Chronic lymphocytic thyroiditis - Case 2. (ultrasonographic picture 1)

Right lobe, horizontal view. The thyroid is hypoechogenic. There is a more inhomogeneous area in the dorsomedial part of the lobe. The inhomogenicity here is caused by more pronounced fibrotic changes. The appearance of the connective tissue depending on the angle between the tissue and the ultrasound bundle maybe punctate resembling microcalcification or linear.
