Clinical presentation. A 41-year-old woman was referred for evaluation of thyroid nodule discovered by herself one year ago.

Palpation: an elastic nodule in the right lobe.

Result of blood tests: TSH 3.17 mIU/L.

Ultrasonography. The thyroid was echonormal. There was a large, central-type cystic nodule in the right lobe. There were several echogenic figures in teh ventral part of the lobe.

After aspirating 16 mL yellow fluid aspiration cytology was performed from the solid part which resulted in benign follicular proliferation.
