Clinical data: A 29-year-old woman was referred for an evaluation of a nodule discovered by herself.
Palpation: a hard nodule in the right lobe.
Result of blood tests: euthyroidism (TSH-level 0.83 mIU/L).
Ultrasonography. The thyroid was echonormal. There was a moderately hypoechogenic, inhomogeneous nodule presenting various hyperechogenic granules and cystic degeneration in the right thyroid. The nodule presented intranodular vascularity. The lesion did not show halo sign, the presence of perinodular blood flow was doubtful.
Cytology resulted in follicular tumor.
Histopathology disclosed follicular adenoma.
