Although this lobe is minimally hypoechogenic, this has only limited relevance because of technical reasons: a hypoechogenic muscle fiber runs ventral to the thyroid and there is an acoustic shadow originating ventral to the thyroid. These might decrease the echogenicity of the thyroid. |
