Right lobe, longitudinal scan. The lobe is composed of multiple moderately hypoechogenic circumscribed areas. Note that the echonormal rim presented in the horizontal scan is in truth a hypoechogenic line crossing the entire thyroid. This cannot be held as sonographic sign of a capsule.
