Horizontal scan of the thyroid beds. There is a similar pattern in the left thyroid bed: the thyroid parenchyma is replaced by connective tissue marked with blue arrows. Note the dorsal inhomogeneous structure marked with green arrows. This is the oesophagus. The hypoechogenic mass marked with red arrows ventral to the echonormal connective tissue is the sternocleidomastoides muscle.
