Differential diagnostic of hyperechogenic intranodular granules - table 10
A hyperplastic nodule in Hashimoto's thyroiditis
Papillary carcinoma

The intranodular granules are more bright in the papillary carcinoma than in the benign lesion. These are microcalcifications in the malignant and non-specific granules in the benign nodule. The acoustic shadow presented by the right lesion is an indirect proof of the presence of coarse calcification.
