Clinical presentation: A 39-year-old woman was referred for aspiration cytology. She was investigated because of a 'lump in the throat' feeling.

Palpation: no abnormality.

Laboratory test: TSH 1.08 mIU/L, anti-TPO 2 U/mL.

Lesion in question:

the nodule in the isthmus.

Additional information on the lesion

Dimensions (width x depth x length): 5x6x7 mm.

Taller-than wide sign present: present.

Intranodular vascularization: absent.

Pathologic adenopathy: absent.
