Clinical presentation: A 33-year-old woman requested a second opinion. She was treated for hypothyroidism for several years but until the present examination no ultrasound investigation was performed.

Palpation: Both lobes were very firm.

Laboratory test: TSH 2.91 mIU/L on daily 112.5 microgram levothyroxine.

Lesion in question:

the hyperechogenic lesion in the right lobe.

Additional information on the lesion

Dimensions (width x depth x length): 9x9x10 mm.

Taller-than wide sign present: absent.

Intranodular vascularization: absent.

Pathologic adenopathy: absent.
