Clinical presentation. A 57-year-old man was referred for an evaluation of a rapidly increasing mass in the left side of the neck. He first noticed the lump 4 months ago.
Palpation: a very hard mass involving the left thyroid and the left side of the neck. The mass was approximately 12 cm in diameter.
Laboratory test: TSH 3.41 mIU/L.
Lesion in question:
the nodule occupying almost the entire left lobe.
Additional information on the lesion
Dimensions (width x depth x length): 42x44x54 mm.
Taller-than wide sign present: present.
Intranodular vascularization: present.
Pathologic adenopathy: present.
