Data

Clinical presentation. A 45-year old woman came to follow-up examination. First we met the patient 5 years ago when a multinodular goiter was diagnosed on evaluation of weight gain. There was large cystic lesion in the right lobe and a nodular area composed of several discrete lesions in the left lobe. Our cytological examination resulted in benign lesion both from the right and the left lesion. The patient had no complaints, she came this time to the suggested follow-up examination.

Palpation: There was a hard nodule in the right thyroid.

Laboratory test: TSH 1.08 mIU/L, aTPO 0.3 U/mL.

Lesion in question:

the lesion in the central part of the LEFT lobe. (Compared with the previous examination the lesion increased from 6x7x8 mm to 8x10x10 mm, width, depth and length, respectively.)

Additional information on the lesion

Dimensions (width x depth x length): 8x10x10 mm.

Taller-than wide sign present: present.

Intranodular vascularization: present.

Pathologic adenopathy: absent.
