Thyroid cancers - case 460 |

Clinical presentation: A 35-year-old woman was referred for evaluation of a nodule discovered on screening.
Palpation: a firm nodule in the left lobe.
Hormonal examination indicated euthyroidism with TSH 1.43 mIU/L.
Ultrasonography revealed a solitary hypoechogenic nodule in the left lobe. The lesion had halo and perinodular blood flow.
Cytology resulted in Hürthle-cell tumor with follicular structure.
Scintigraphy indicated a "cold" nodule.
Histopathology disclosed minimally invasive follicular cancer. The proportion of Hürthle-cells did not exceed 10%.
