Clinical presentation: A 59-year-old woman referred for an evaluation of a newly discovered nodule.
Palpation: a hard nodule in the right thyroid.
Functional state: euthyroidism.
Ultrasonography: There was a hypoechogenic nodule in the right lobe. The nodule displayed an incomplete halo.
Cytological diagnosis: follicular tumor with greater than the average risk of malignancy.
Histopathology: widely invasive follicular cancer.
