Clinical presentation: A 48-year-old woman was referred for evaluation of a newly diagnosed hypothyroidism.
Palpation: Both lobes were enlarged and uneven on palpation. A clear nodule could not be palpated.
Laboratory test: TSH 9.41 mIU/L
Diagnosis. Primary hypothyroidism caused by Hashimoto's thyroiditis.
Suggestions: daily 50 microgram levothyroxine replacement therapy. TSH check in 3 months.
