Clinical presentation: A 67-year-old woman was referred for aspiration cytology of a thyroid nodule in the lower part of the right lobe which was discovered on PET-CT. The patient was operated on for breast cancer 15 months ago.
Palpation: no abnormality.
Laboratory test: TSH 0.71 mIU/l, FT4 14,9 pM/L, aTPO > 1300 U/mL.
Cytology resulted in benign follicular proliferation.
Diagnosis. Euthyroidism. Hashimoto's thyroiditis. Benign nodular goiter.
Suggestion: TSH in a year, ultrasound in two years.
