Case 2 (case 346 - part 2) |
|
Clinical presentation: A 39-year-old woman came to follow-up examination. I met her two years ago when FNA was performed from a lesion in the right lobe which was detected on ultrasound screening. FNA resulted in bening lesion, however considering the ultrasound pattern a repeat FNA was suggested in 6 months. This time, the patient came to the suggested follow-up examination but first because of diffuse complaints (fatigue, nervousness, weight loss, palpitation, lump in the throat feeling). These evolved after the serious family problems lasting for several months.
Palpation: no abnormality.
Hormonal examination: TSH-level 1.38 mIU/L, FT4 12.2 pM/L. Th aTPO level was 157 U/mL two years ago.
The dimensions of the hypoechoic lesion in the right lobe were 8x7x11 mm, width, depth, length, respectively.
