Histogram analysis of the extranodular part (upper insert), the nodule (middle insert) and the next healthy thyroid on this day (lower insert) . The nodule is lighter than the extranodular part but darker than a healthy thyroid. So, it should be regarded as an iso/hyperechoic nodule or a hypoechoic nodule, reference tissue is the non-nodular part (all but the EU TIRADS) or normal, healthy thyroid (EU TIRADS).
