Case 1208
Clinical data
Clinical presentation: A 42-yr old woman came to a follow-up examination. She was treated for Graves' disease twice 22 and 27 years ago. First, I met her 12 years before the present investigation and once more a few years later. On both occasions she was euthyroid and her thyroid has a few hypoechoic areas, each less than 5 mm in maximal diameter. This time she came to a routine check and had no complaints.
Palpation: no abnormality.
Laboratory tests: TSH 1.08 mIU/L.
There were two remarkable lesions in the thyroid. One in the middle, dorsal part of the right lobe (Nodule 1) and the largest one in the left lobe (Nodule 2). The dimensions of the right lesion were 7x7x9 mm, those of the left nodule were 10x7x12 mm, width, depth, length, respectively.
