There are two larger hypoechogenic inhomogeneous lesions, one in the right and another one in the left lobe. Two similar but smaller hypoechogenic areas are found. This pattern resembles a multinodular goiter. On the other hand, the borders of these four lesions are not regularly geometrical. Moreover, there are several other less hypoechogenic areas in the thyroid. The latter findings favour the possibility of lymphocytic thyroiditis.
To summarize: these lesions are probably more active foci of lymphocytic thyroiditis and not nodules in pathological sense.

Cytology disclosed Hashimoto's thyroiditis. This patient underwent surgery, the final histopathology disclosed Hashimoto's thyroiditis, and there wasn't any nodule in the thyroid.
