Clinical presentation: a 61-year-old woman with nodular goiter discovered on carotid Doppler examination and was referred for evaluation.

Functional state: euthyroidism (TSH 0.59 mIU/L). 

Ultrasonography: multiple hypoechogenic lesions within echonormal background.

Cytological and final combined diagnosis: benign Hashimoto's thyroiditis.
