The thyroid is echonormal with a hypoechogenic lesion with microcalcifications and puzzle-like irregular borders. Papillary cancer and chronic diffuse lymphocytic thyroiditis were diagnosed on histopathological analysis. There are only sparred signs of the latter on ultrasound: several hypoechogenic areas marked with red are present.
