Pay attention to a small but not insignificant difference when comparing the two diseases. In the case of de Quervain's thyroiditis the hypoehogenic part is composed of multiple smaller areas and the borders are ill-defined not only between the intact thyroid and the larger hypoechogenic field but also between the small hypoechogenic areas within the hypoechogenic part. |
