Intranuclear grooves
Benign hyperplastic nodule
Papillary cancer
Intranuclear grooves are also characteristic features of a papillary carcinoma. The sensitivity of grooves is close to that of inclusion while the specificity of grooves is worse than that of inclusions. These are also invagination of the nuclear mebrane and as in the case of inclusions there practical usefullness is less in the case of oxyphilic cells.
