Clinical data

Clinical data: A 36-year-old woman requested a second opinion. She was treated with non-steroid antiinflammatory drug for subatute thyroiditis 4 months ago. Her neck complaints have resolved within a week and did not recur. Based on fatigue and a moderate degree of hypothyroidism (TSH 6.81 mIU/L), daily 50 microgram levothyroxine has been administered for 2 weeks by the GP.

Palpation: no abnormality.

Laboratory evaluation: TSH 1.08 mIU/L, FT4 13.2 pM/L.
