Identifying a vessel in unusual localization within the thyroid

Right lobe, horizontal view

Left lobe, horizontal scan. A hypoechogenic lesion in the ventromedial part of the lobe marked with an arrow. The width of this lesion was 7 mm. It is seems like a nodule on this view. Note hyperechogenic granules on the border of the lesion. These are calcifications in the wall of the vessel.
