Clinical presentation: a 48-year-old woman with a "nodule" discovered on sonographic screening was referred for an evaluation.

Palpation: no abnormalities.

Ultrasonography: normal thyroids with a vessel in unusual location within the thyroid. 

Final report: the thyroid is healthy.
