Right lobe, horizontal scan. Great part of the lobe is hypoechogenic. There is an echonormal rim ventral, lateral and dorsal to the hypoechogenic area. It is the typical sonographic presentation of a subtotally resected thyroid. The difference in echogenicity may be explained by differences in blood supply. This is a very important pattern. We have to avoid false diagnosis of a nodule.
