Clinical data: a 35-year-old woman with hypothyroidism known for years.
Palpation: no abnormality.
Functional state: euthyroidism on daily 250 microgram levo-tiroxine with TSH-level 1.28 mIU/L.
Ultrasonography: a hypoechogenic thyroid with a circumscribed, more hypoechogenic area in the dorsal part of the left lobe.
Cytological report: papillary cancer.
Histopathology: Hashimoto's thyroiditis and a papillary microcarcinoma with a maximal diameter of 7 mm.
