Differential diagnostic of hyperechogenic discrete lesions in Hashimoto's thyroiditis - Table 5
Lesion proved to be a nodule in a pathological sense
Hyperechogenic area corresponding to intact parts not or less influenced by thyroiditis
We cannot decide in each and each case whether a hyperechogenic lesion is a nodule in a pathological sense or an intact part of a hypoechogenic thyroid. The above presented cases belong to this doubtful category. The patient history excluded the former possibility in the right case.
