Differential diagnostic of hyperechogenic discrete lesions in Hashimoto's thyroiditis - Table 6
Lesion probably a nodule in a pathological sense
Lesion probably not a nodule in a pathological sense
We cannot decide in each and each case whether a hyperechogenic lesion is a nodule in a pathological sense or an intact part of a hypoechogenic thyroid. The likelihood being the lesion a nodule in a pathological sense is more likely in the left lesion than in the right one because the former presents a regular geometrical shape while the latter does not. Nevertheless, the origin of both lesions is doubtful.
