Benign hyperplastic nodule
Papillary carcinoma

The two lesions present similar hyperechogenic granules. Part of these are microcalcifications in both cases. There are two important differences: the benign lesion is echonormal-minimally hypoechogenic and well demarcated while the malignant nodule is moderately hypoechogenic and presents ill-defined borders.
