Differential diagnostic of hyperechogenic intranodular granules - table 21
Benign hyperplastic nodule
Papillary carcinoma

Granulation around surgical thread

Medullary carcinoma

Four different diseases are demonstrated which present hyperechogenic structures. In the two upper images microcalcifications and non-specific hyperechogenic granules are demonstrated. The granulation around surgical thread has an irregular shape and contains amyloid-like deposit. The medullary carcinoma presents multiple cotton-like hyperechogenic patches corresponding to amyloid.
