Clinical presentation: A 56-year-old man requested a second opinion. He has been treated for hypothyroidism for more than 10 years. Despite the patient's request, his doctor did not perform an ultrasound examination, so he turned to a private ultrasound laboratory, where a suspicious nodule was found.
Palpation: Both lobes were firm, but no nodule was palpable.
Laboratory tests: TSH 5.01 mIU/L on daily 62.5 microgram levothyroxine.
Additional data. The dimensions of the lesion in the RIGHT lobe were 5x6x7 mm, width, depth and length, respectively.
