The thyroid contained numerous discrete hypoechogenic areas corresponding to focal form of Hashimoto's thyroiditis. Beside these lesions the left lobe contained a larger hypoechogenic lesion. This lesions presented small hyperechogenic granules and in contrast with the smaller areas displayed regular, geometrical borders.

Histopathology disclosed Hashimoto's thyroiditis and hyperplastic nodule according to the large lesion.
