Clinical data: A 50-year-old man was referred for an evaluation of a thyroid nodule. We aspirated 2.5 mL brown fluid form the cystic part of the nodule 3 months earlier. The cyst got refilled.
Hormonal investigation indicated euthyroidism.
Ultrasonography revealed a solitary cystic nodule with echonormal solid part.
FNA repeatedly not diagnostic.
Surgery was advised.
Intraoperative imprint cytology disclosed papillary carcinoma.
Histopathology: papillary cancer.
