Clinical presentation: a 53-year-old woman with a thyroid nodule known for years. She was referred for regular follow-up examinations.

Functional state: euthyroidism (TSH: 0.59 mIU/L).

Ultrasonography: a hypoechogenic nodule in the right lobe and a hypoechogenic lesion with the maximal diameter of 7 mm.

Cytology: disclosed a benign nodular goiter with a microfollicular pattern.

Suggestion: regular follow-up examinations. 9 years later the size of the nodule remained the same in size. The dimensions of the nodule were 14x15x19 in 2003, while 14x16x17 mm in 2011.
