Clinical data: a 57-year-old woman experiencing hoarseness and a 10-month history of a self-discovered nodule in the right thyroid lobe.
Palpation: a firm nodule was palpable in the right lobe.
Functional state: euthyroidism (TSH-level 0.58 mIU/L, FT4 15.6 pM/L).
Ultrasonography: there was a hypoechogenic inhomogeneous nodule with intranodular blood flow in the right lobe.
Cytological picture: no colloid in the background. Thyrocytes with abundant cytoplasm are in loose irregular structures and papillary clusters. Follicular cells are enlarged. A few inclusions and grooves are also present.
Cytological diagnosis: papillary cancer.
Histopathology: papillary cancer.
