A monomorphous pattern is one of the characteristic signs of a
follicular tumor. Thyrocytes are of even size in a typical case of a
follicular
adenoma and even in well-differentiated follicular carcinoma.
Hyperplastic nodules exhibit a greater degree of anosinucleosis than a
follicular tumor. Single, enlarged round cells have no relevance.
