Clinical presentation: a 19-year-old woman with clinical signs of hypothyroidism.

Ultrasonography: was performed in another institute described two 'suspicious nodules' in the right lobe. In fact the 'nodules' seen on US are hypoechogenic areas corresponding to Hashimoto's thyroiditis separated by fibrous septum.

Functional state: hypothyroidism (TSH 14.2 mIU/L, FT4 7.9 pM/L).  

Cytological report: benign Hashimoto's thyroiditis.
