Clinical presentation: a 39-year-old woman was referred for evaluation of theyroid nodule discovered on routine physical examination.
Palpation: left lobe contained multiple, moderately firm nodules.
Functional state: euthyroidism (TSH 3.28 mIU/L).
Ultraosonography: the left lobe presented a large nodule composed of several discrete lesions. The intranodular vascularization was increased.
Aspiration cytology was performed from the largest nodule in the left lobe and resulted in benign, colloid goiter.
A left lobectomy was performed beacuse of compression signs. Histopathology disclosed benign hyperplastic nodules.
