Papillary carcinoma - Case 69. |

Clinical data: a 47-year-old woman previously operated on oxyphilic variant of papillary for 6 years.
First row: on regular follow up examination a hypoechogenic mass was detected in the region of right lobe. FNAC disclosed oxyphilic cell tumor. The tumor did not took up radioiodine, and the tireoglobulin-level was 23 ng/dL, anti-hTg was 251 IU/mL. Reoperation was performed and a Hürthle-cell carcinoma was proven on histopathology.
Second row: 3 years later we detected a small hypoechogenic lesion in the right lobe. FNAC again disclosed Hürthle-cell tumor. Note, that on previous examination this small lesion was already present. The tireoglobulin-level was 12 ng/dL, anti-hTg was 199 IU/mL.
